Senior Engineer / Sub-Agent
Location: Glasgow Airport
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Engineer or Sub-Agent to support the delivery of airfield infrastructure works at a major UK airport. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing site engineering activities, overseeing setting out operations, coordinating engineering teams, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of groundworks, civil engineering, and airfield concreting works. This is a night shift position working on a live operational airport environment and requires a strong understanding of aviation infrastructure projects, site safety, quality assurance, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage site engineering activities across airfield construction works.
- Supervise and coordinate site engineers and subcontractors.
- Carry out and oversee setting out activities using surveying equipment.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and project programmes.
- Support the delivery of groundworks, drainage, concrete, and civil engineering packages.
- Maintain accurate site records, surveys, and as-built information.
- Coordinate temporary works requirements and ensure compliance with approved procedures.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Engineer, Sub-Agent, or similar role within civil engineering.
- Demonstrable experience managing engineering teams on site.
- Strong background in groundworks and civil engineering projects.
- Experience delivering airfield concreting works.
- Fully competent in the use of surveying and setting out equipment.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- SSSTS certification.
- Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Able to successfully pass airport security clearance/background checks.
- Based in Scotland or willing to work full-time in Glasgow.

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working on aviation infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of airfield surfacing works.
- Experience with Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) installations.
- Experience managing access permits within controlled operational environments.
