Senior Site Engineer – Water Infrastructure
Surrey | Contract | Competitive Day Rate | IR35 TBC
The Project
A major water infrastructure programme delivering significant upgrades across treatment and network assets in Surrey, part of a well-established Thames Water framework with a strong, active pipeline and a delivery team that has the experience and structure to do the job properly.
The Role
As Senior Site Engineer you will take a lead engineering role on site, supporting the site management team while taking genuine ownership of technical delivery. You will be trusted to run the engineering function day to day, setting out, quality management, subcontractor oversight, and technical coordination and keeping standards high across the project.
This suits someone who has outgrown a standard site engineer role, wants more responsibility, and is ready to be the go-to technical person on a well-run water infrastructure scheme.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
