The Opportunity
We are working with a leading main contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Site Manager to join the team delivering a major mixed-use development in Guildford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to take a senior role on a high-profile project, working alongside an experienced project team and overseeing the successful delivery of a complex development from construction through to completion.
The scheme incorporates a combination of residential and commercial elements, requiring strong coordination across multiple trades, packages and stakeholders.
The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating site activities across multiple work packages.
- Leading and developing Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and the wider site team.
- Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to maintain programme and commercial objectives.
- Coordinating subcontractors and specialist contractors to ensure efficient delivery.
- Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential delays or areas of risk.
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with the project drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Chairing and attending subcontractor and progress meetings as required.
- Liaising with consultants, clients, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
- Ensuring inspection, testing and quality documentation is completed correctly.
- Supporting the project team through the various stages of construction and into completion and handover.

We are looking for an established Senior Site Manager with a strong background in main contracting and experience delivering large-scale, complex construction projects.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience working for a tier-one or established main contractor.
- Experience delivering mixed-use, residential, commercial or similarly complex developments.
- A strong understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and logistics.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and leading site teams.
- Excellent health & safety and quality awareness.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants and supply-chain partners.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
- Relevant construction qualifications, ideally including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
