Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Remote, £66,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Build Reliability at Scale. Lead High-Performing Engineers. Power Millions of Deliveries.

Want to shape the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems that support one of the UK's largest parcel delivery networks?

At Evri, Site Reliability Engineering is a critical part of how we build and operate technology. We're looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Team Lead) to lead and develop a team of six engineers while remaining hands-on with modern cloud technologies.

This is a leadership role that requires strong technical credibility, particularly across AWS, platform reliability, automation, and cloud-native engineering. You'll be responsible for setting standards, driving operational excellence, and helping your team deliver resilient, scalable services that support business-critical platforms.

This is a high-impact role where you'll influence engineering standards, improve reliability practices, and help shape the future of SRE across the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers
  • Provide technical leadership and direction across cloud, platform, and operational engineering initiatives
  • Improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency across our platforms and services
  • Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve software delivery
  • Define and measure SLIs, SLOs, and key service performance metrics
  • Build monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions that provide meaningful operational insight
  • Support engineering teams in resolving complex availability, performance, and scalability challenges
  • Enable reliable deployments and rapid issue detection, recovery, and rollback processes
  • Champion security, resilience, and engineering best practices across services and platforms
  • Manage and enhance shared tooling including CI/CD and automation platforms
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and platform stability initiatives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
