Senior Site Reliability Engineer - AI Automation | Remote UK | 6-Month Contract PAYE
What if the on-call rota could fix itself?
A global technology leader is looking for senior engineers to build the AI-driven automation that keeps a large, live VR product healthy. The product runs natively on VR headsets and is streamed to mobile and PC via the cloud. The goal isn't more firefighting. It's building systems that detect problems, work out the fix and land it, so recurring operational work drops by 80-90%.
This role suits an SRE or platform engineer who has run backend services at scale, has already put AI to work in their tooling, and would rather own a problem outright than wait to be told what to do.
The offer
- Annual Salary: up to £115,000 (pro rata), PAYE and paid weekly via Principle HR
- Contract: 6-month contract, inside IR35
- Location: Fully remote within the UK. You must be physically based in the UK and hold full UK right to work, as sponsorship is not available.

What you'll bring
- 8+ years in software, SRE or platform engineering, ideally within a large multinational tech company
- Hands-on experience building AI-driven, self-healing systems (LLMs, agents, auto-remediation) that monitor metrics and act autonomously
- A strong track record of deploying and running backend and cloud services in production
- Experience building and operating CI/CD, release and deployment pipelines at scale
- Experience with production monitoring, crash triage and incident response
- Proof that you have cut operational or on-call load through automation

Bonus points: cloud gaming or app streaming, remote rendering, CDN or asset delivery, live ops, large monorepos.
What a week might look like
- Keeping the weekly cloud rendering deployment on track, and making sure VR and mobile players can still play together afterwards
- Improving an AI code-repair system that writes and lands its own fixes
- Building tooling that catches a broken build, traces it to the change that caused it, and fixes it
- Spotting a performance regression before users do, and automating it out of existence
