Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Manchester / Hybrid
£75,000–£80,000 + Benefits

Some engineers build products.
Others build the platform, tooling and engineering practices that allow every developer to deliver better software.
This opportunity sits firmly in the second category.

Our client is investing heavily in its engineering capability as it continues to modernise its technology estate, evolve its digital platform and embrace AI-assisted software delivery. Reporting directly to the CTO, this is an opportunity to shape how platform engineering, reliability and quality evolve across three cross-functional product squads.

The Azure platform, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD foundations are already established. The challenge is to take them further by introducing modern observability, improving engineering standards, evolving automation and enabling development teams to deliver software faster, more reliably and with greater confidence.

The Opportunity

Working alongside the CTO and Tech Leads, you'll own the platform engineering practice across the business, acting as the technical authority for platform reliability, observability and engineering quality.
This isn't a role where you'll become the bottleneck or own every deployment. Instead, you'll define standards, select tooling, build reusable frameworks and coach development teams.
You'll have genuine influence over technical direction, architecture and engineering culture while helping build the foundations for the next generation of AI-assisted software delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
