Role Description

This full-time remote role for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer / Platform Engineer focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining highly reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure and platform services for KBC’s global clients. The individual will build and optimize automation, observability, and deployment pipelines, ensuring consistent performance and availability of mission-critical systems. Daily responsibilities include monitoring production environments, diagnosing incidents, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing long-term fixes to reduce operational risk. The role involves close collaboration with software engineering, system administration, and security teams to define SLOs/SLAs, improve reliability practices, and enhance platform capabilities. The engineer will also contribute to technical standards, documentation, and best practices, while mentoring team members and supporting continuous improvement across SRE and platform engineering disciplines.

  • Strong skills in Site Reliability Engineering, including reliability best practices, incident management, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure design and management, such as cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), networking fundamentals, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Hands-on experience with System Administration for Linux/Unix environments, configuration management, and security hardening.
  • Solid Software Development capabilities in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and experience writing automation and tooling.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills, including log analysis, monitoring, debugging complex distributed systems, and performing root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes or similar) is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with observability stacks (metrics, tracing, logging) and tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in distributed teams, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and
