Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Remote – UK
Up to £66,000 + Bonus
VIQU are partnering with a leading organisation to appoint a Senior Site Reliability Engineer focused on AWS, automation, reliability, and operational resilience. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges while mentoring and technically leading others.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Site Reliability Engineer:
- Improve engineering efficiency through automation, resilience, and security
- Design and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure
- Develop AWS infrastructure using CDK, ideally with TypeScript
- Resolve complex production and reliability issues
- Build and maintain CI/CD and automation tooling
- Develop monitoring and reliability dashboards
- Define and measure SLOs and SLIs
- Support reliable deployments, troubleshooting, and rollback
- Maintain runbooks and operational documentation
- Improve technology standards and operational processes
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance

Key Experience Required of the Senior Site Reliability Engineer:
- Strong AWS experience
- Must-have AWS CDK experience; TypeScript preferred, Python considered
- Strong Linux and/or Windows administration skills
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Ansible or CloudFormation
- Hands-on CI/CD experience with Jenkins, Concourse CI, GitLab, or similar
- Experience with Docker and containers
- Scripting experience using Bash, Python, Go, or similar
- Strong production troubleshooting skills
- Experience with monitoring, SLOs, SLIs, and reliability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience mentoring, technically leading, or taking ownership within a team
- Interest in developing leadership skills while remaining hands-on as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer
