About the Role
Principal Education is currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive School Site Supervisor to work at a secondary school in East London, starting as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, site supervisor, facilities assistant or maintenance operative looking to work within a school environment.
As School Site Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained, supporting the smooth running of the school day.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Opening and securing the school premises, including locking and unlocking buildings.
- Carrying out routine site inspections and reporting maintenance issues.
- Undertaking general maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY tasks.
- Ensuring school buildings and external areas are safe, clean and tidy.
- Assisting with deliveries, moving furniture and setting up rooms.
- Monitoring site security and managing access to the premises.
- Reporting health and safety concerns and ensuring site procedures are followed.
- Supporting the wider school team with day-to-day site requirements.

The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, facilities or maintenance role.
- Practical skills and confidence carrying out general maintenance tasks.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
- A proactive attitude with good organisational and communication skills.
- An understanding of health and safety and site security procedures.
- Willingness to undertake the necessary safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
