Summary
To carry out site works, including structural investigation, GPR scanning, surveys and inspections. To supervise technicians as required and to co-ordinate the project. To promote the business and ensure quality and safety on all projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Principal Duties
- To carry out structural investigation, predominantly focusing on GPR scanning, but also the wider range of investigation, which can include half-cell potential, material sampling, core drilling.
- Analysing data and producing technical reports.
- Supervising other technicians in time, ensuring the correct use equipment, setting up the equipment correctly and carrying out the work as per approved procedures.
- To ensure that all site works, and projects are commenced effectively and to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Training and mentoring any apprentices, graduates that may be employed by us.
- To ensure that all relevant project information is received and logged appropriately.
- To ensure that all relevant documents are in place and logged in the job file prior to commencing any site work.
- To liaise with the Project Manager to ensure all labour, materials and equipment are allocated and implemented to ensure the effective commencement, progress and completion of the project.
- To monitor, review and report on progress and status of live projects to the Project and Operations Manager.
- To supervise the test engineers on your project and ensure they are working safely, professionally and in line with the relevant standards.
- To ensure that the test engineers reports are being checked properly, authorized, then sent to the client.
- To ensure that all site reports, RAMS, test briefs, drawings, photos are saved to the relevant job file.
- Producing case studies and marketing for interesting, technical and complex projects.
- Reviewing site procedures and ensuring best practice is adhered to.
- To feedback to the Ops Manager on the team’s performance, quality of work and any areas of concern.

Quality Activities
- Carrying out regular site appraisals of the test engineers, logging and updating the register.
- Ensuring that all RAMS, briefs, reports are being checked and are using the latest templates.
- Ensuring all site teams are using registered site logbooks to record all test data from site.
- Ensuring that all test reports, RAMS, briefs are checked and saved to the server.
- To monitor and ensure all Quality requirements are being correctly implemented on all projects as per the documented procedures.
- Updating training logs for new engineers.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in a Site Technician or Site Investigation role
- Proven experience supervising site investigation, geotechnical or environmental works
- Strong understanding of site investigation techniques, sampling and testing procedures
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and site investigation scopes
