Role Description

The Senior Skin Specialist is a self-employed, on-site role based at Novellus Aesthetics in North Shields. This role involves:

  • Conducting detailed skin consultations
  • Assessing client concerns
  • Designing individualized treatment plans aligned with clinic protocols and safety standards
  • Performing advanced skin treatments
  • Monitoring client progress
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation

  • Educating clients on treatment options and skincare regimens
  • Collaborating with medical and aesthetic colleagues to ensure high-quality care
  • Supporting continuous improvement of treatment offerings
  • Staying current with evidence-based practices
  • Contributing to training of junior staff
  • Helping uphold a welcoming, professional environment

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced skin assessment, diagnosis of common aesthetic concerns, and development of bespoke treatment plans.
  • Hands-on experience with aesthetic procedures (e.g., chemical peels, microneedling, laser or light-based treatments, injectables where appropriately credentialed), with a strong focus on safety and natural-looking results.
  • Solid grounding in medical and facial anatomy, skin physiology, and evidence-based aesthetic practice to support precise, artistry-driven treatments.
  • Strong client communication skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to explain complex treatments clearly and manage expectations.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, informed consent, and maintaining detailed clinical records in line with regulatory and clinic standards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary aesthetic and medical team, supporting shared protocols and consistent client experience.
  • Relevant professional qualification in aesthetics, skincare
  • Several years of experience in aesthetic or skincare settings preferably in a senior or lead practitioner capacity.
  • Ongoing engagement in professional development, including training in new techniques and technologies and participation in industry events or courses.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability in managing appointment schedules, and a high level
