Senior Snowflake Developer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Developer to join our Data & Analytics team and play a key role in building and enhancing enterprise data platforms within a Financial Services environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable cloud-based data solutions that support critical Risk, Finance, Treasury, Regulatory, and Management Reporting capabilities. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with solution design, data architecture, and stakeholder engagement, requiring an individual who can translate complex business requirements into robust, enterprise-grade data solutions.
Data Engineering & Solution Delivery
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Snowflake platform.
- Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and regulatory requirements.
- Design and implement dimensional, analytical, and operational data models.
- Develop and maintain reusable transformation frameworks using dbt.
- Build Python-based data processing, automation, and integration solutions.
- Develop data ingestion processes from multiple internal and external source systems.
- Support cloud migration and data platform modernization initiatives.
- Contribute to solution architecture, engineering standards, and platform design decisions.
Performance, Quality & Governance
- Optimize Snowflake databases, workloads, and SQL queries to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement data quality controls, reconciliation processes, and monitoring frameworks.
- Troubleshoot complex production, performance, and data integrity issues.
- Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards.
- Support code reviews, testing, release management, and CI/CD delivery practices.
- Maintain technical documentation and promote engineering best practices across the data platform.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and solution design discussions.
- Collaborate effectively with business users, data architects, developers, and project teams.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project delivery.
Technical Expertise
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Platform Development.
- 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake development experience within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance optimization, security, and data modelling.
- Advanced SQL development and database optimization skills.
- Strong experience with dbt for data transformation, testing, deployment, and modelling.
- Advanced Python programming skills for data engineering and automation.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing principles, Dimensional Modelling and Star Schema design, Data Architecture and Data Governance, Data Quality and Performance Optimization.
- Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD deployment practices.

Financial Services Experience
- Proven experience within Banking or Financial Services organizations.
- Strong understanding of data ecosystems supporting: Credit Risk, Market Risk, Finance & Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Management Information & Analytics.
- Experience working within governance, audit, and control frameworks typical of regulated financial institutions.
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and business engagement capabilities.
- Experience working directly with business users, product owners, and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Desired Skills
- Control-M, AutoSys, or equivalent workload scheduling tools.
- Microsoft BI technologies including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
- Power BI and enterprise reporting platforms.
- Azure Data Services, Azure Data Factory, or similar cloud data technologies.
- Experience delivering cloud migration and data modernization programs.
- Knowledge of real-time or near real-time data processing architectures.
- Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or Machine Learning solutions.
