An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior SOC Analyst (L2) to join a high-performing security operations team supporting a highly secure, next-generation technology environment.
This is a 24/7 operation so the successful candidate will work as part of a shift-based team, with a shift allowance provided for non-standard and unsociable working hours.
The Role
As a Senior SOC Analyst (L2), you will act as an escalation point for complex and high-severity security incidents. You'll be responsible for advanced investigation and analysis, identifying attack vectors and root causes, while supporting containment, eradication and recovery activities.
You'll also play an important role in developing the wider SOC capability, providing technical guidance to L1 Analysts and helping improve detection rules, playbooks and overall security monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate escalated security incidents, identifying attack vectors, scope, root cause and potential business impact.
- Correlate events across multiple data sources to build a clear incident narrative.
- Lead the response to medium and high-severity incidents.
- Support containment, eradication and recovery activities.
- Produce detailed incident investigation and response reports.
- Tune detection rules and thresholds alongside Security Content Engineering teams.
- Identify gaps in detection coverage and contribute to improving SOC processes and playbooks.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to L1 SOC Analysts.
- Participate in SOC exercises and simulated incident response activities.
- Work as part of a 24/7 shift based SOC team.

What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years' experience within a SOC, Incident Response or Threat Analysis environment.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Good knowledge of SIEM and EDR technologies.
- Understanding of malware behaviour and incident handling methodologies.
- Experience investigating and responding to security incidents.
- Comfortable working within a 24/7 shift environment.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Due to the nature of the position and security requirements, applicants must hold sole British nationality and be eligible to obtain the required level of UK security clearance.

- GCIA
- GCIH
- CompTIA CySA+
- Microsoft SC-200
- Splunk Certified Power User
Security Clearance
Due to the sensitive nature of the environment, any offer of employment will be subject to BPSS and the successful candidate obtaining the required level of security clearance. The clearance requirements for this particular opportunity include 10 years' continuous UK address history with no periods of 30 consecutive days or more spent outside the UK, alongside specific nationality requirements at the point of application. Please note that these are client-specific clearance requirements.
