Senior SOC Engineer
Location: Hampshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm

We’re looking for an experienced Senior SOC Engineer to join a growing cyber security team and help develop the technology and automation behind a modern Security Operations Centre.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys the engineering side of cyber security — working with SIEM, XDR, SOAR and automation technologies to improve monitoring, detection and incident response.
- Designing, configuring and maintaining SOC security platforms.
- Building automation and integrations to improve security processes and response times.
- Working with SIEM, XDR and SOAR technologies.
- Developing and maintaining log ingestion, parsing and data pipelines.
- Using scripting and APIs to automate repetitive tasks and connect security platforms.
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues and acting as a senior escalation point.
- Supporting the implementation of security tooling across new environments.
- Helping improve detection and response capabilities.
- Sharing knowledge and mentoring other engineers and analysts.
- Keeping up to date with new security technologies and emerging threats.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with 3–5+ years’ experience within a SOC or security engineering environment, with strong hands-on technical experience.
Ideally Experience with several of the following:
- SIEM – ideally Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, Google SecOps or similar.
- SOAR / Automation – Cortex XSOAR, Logic Apps or similar.
- EDR / XDR – CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne or similar.
- Cloud – Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Scripting – Python, Go or another scripting language.
- Security log ingestion, parsing and data normalisation.
- APIs and security platform integrations.
- Vulnerability management or threat intelligence would be beneficial.
You don’t need experience with every technology listed. We’re primarily looking for a strong SOC Engineer who understands security tooling, enjoys automation and can pick up new technologies quickly.
