Who are we?

Howden is a global insurance group with employee ownership at its heart. We're experts helping clients adapt and thrive in a changing world. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of insurance. We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mind-set, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of over 24,000 employees spanning more than 100 countries.

Our people are our biggest asset as well as our largest shareholder group and are everything that makes us unique; our inclusive culture, the quality service we offer our clients, and our continued growth all come from our people-first approach. There is no such thing as individual success. We all need to play our part, contributing our skills and experience to make a true difference. That's Howden.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Social Media Manager to join our central corporate team. Reporting to the Group Head of Content, you will be the delivery lead within our social media centre of excellence, turning strategy into consistently brilliant day-to-day execution.

This is a senior, hands-on role for a smart, driven social media professional. You will lead the day-to-day running of the corporate social media team, owning planning, execution, governance and best practice across our channels. You'll line manage our Social Media Executive, mentor the wider team, deputise for the Group Head of Content, and remain close to the craft by briefing, creating and quality-checking content yourself.

What you'll be doing

  • Take ownership of briefs, triaging, scoping and resourcing projects across a competing workload.
  • Manage workflows, content calendars and forward planning with colleagues across divisions and geographies.
  • Deputise for the Group Head of Content in meetings and projects across the business.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of campaigns, thought leadership content and sponsorship activity across corporate social channels.
  • Support senior leaders with their LinkedIn presence and lead delivery of the executive social media programme.
  • Build and develop the employee advocacy programme across the business.
  • Optimise measurement, reporting and performance analysis to improve content and campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide first-line social media advice to marketing, communications and social media colleagues on best practice and campaign delivery.
  • Act as custodian of social media governance, ensuring best practice is embedded across all corporate channels.
  • Lead channel consolidation initiatives, including LinkedIn page migrations, training workshops and super-user programmes.
  • Partner with Digital teams to advise on and monitor paid social media activity.
  • Manage relationships with key social media tools, including Hootsuite and Monday.com, while supporting AI workflow and technology implementation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
