About Varley Clothing
Varley is a contemporary fashion brand for the modern woman. Founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife Lara and Ben Mead, we are an international, family-run business headquartered between London, Los Angeles, and New York.
We create year-round collections designed to build an elevated wardrobe for how women live and move. From knitwear and outerwear to everyday staples and active pieces, our collections blend style, function, and versatility.
Varley exists to instil quiet confidence through meaningful connections that enhance everything women already are. As women’s lives evolve, so do we.
Our international family-run team is 85% female, making us proud to be a brand for women, by women. We are guided by two core beliefs: the pursuit of quality in everything we do and looking after one another.
Senior Social Media Manager – Varley
The role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Social Media Manager who shares our belief in considered, modern style and knows how to translate the Varley point of view into engaging, social-first content. You'll lead the strategy and direction of our organic social channels, bringing in-depth platform knowledge and a clear understanding of what drives performance on each channel.
You'll be equal parts strategic and creative, with a genuine passion for social media and a strong eye for design.
You'll decide how the brand shows up across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and emerging platforms, what we make and why, and how we measure success. You'll ensure all content is social-first, from formats and edits to graphics, copy and sound. You'll also champion innovation within the channel, identifying opportunities to evolve our approach and presenting new ideas and recommendations.
You'll partner with our in-house content creators to bring the strategy to life, setting the vision and making sure everything that goes live feels unmistakably Varley.
This role will work from two locations, our London office and also our Wandsworth studio.
What you'll do
Strategy and planning
- Own the organic social strategy across all channels, aligned to brand, product and commercial priorities
- Build quarterly and monthly content plans around collection launches, campaigns, retail moments and always-on storytelling
- Define channel roles, content pillars and formats, and evolve them as platforms and audience behaviour change
- Bring a clear social point of view to cross-functional planning, making sure social is built into campaigns from the start, not adapted at the end

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Build social needs into shoot plans and shot lists, and be actively involved in shoots, events, store activations and brand moments to direct and capture content
- Work with the brand marketing team so creator content complements our own channel output
- Review and sign off content, guarding the Varley tone of voice and visual identity across every post, caption and comment

Performance and insight
- Set channel KPIs and report on reach, engagement, community growth and contribution to traffic and sales
- Turn data into clear recommendations that shape future content, formats and tests
- Share learnings with the paid social team so organic insight informs creative
- Benchmark against competitors and best-in-class brands, in and outside fashion, to keep raising the bar

- A track record of introducing new ideas and formats, and turning tests into results
- Confidence pitching ideas and making the case for them with senior stakeholders
- A proven track record of growing engaged communities and delivering measurable results
- Experience partnering with creative teams and content creators
- Hands-on shooting, editing and design ability, with confidence in tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, Canva or Figma
