Role Summary
The Senior Social Media Specialist delivers data-led, creative social strategies that grow engagement, reach, and conversion across client channels. They balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, managing content calendars, campaigns, and community engagement with precision and creativity.
As a senior member of the Social Media Team, they lead on key accounts, mentor others, and ensure activity aligns with Liberty’s wider commercial objectives. They are actively developing commercial and strategic capability through supported leadership in client forums (calls and QSRs).
Responsibilities (Actions)
- Lead day-to-day Social strategy and delivery across assigned accounts and workstreams.
- Analyse performance, diagnose issues, and turn insight into practical recommendations.
- Plan, execute, and optimise organic social activity across relevant platforms.
- Manage content calendars, scheduling, and community engagement to agreed standards.
- Analyse social performance and recommend improvements to creative, targeting, and messaging.
- Stay up to date with trends, tools, and algorithm changes and translate these into client recommendations.
- Produce clear reporting and recommendations, focusing on what changed, why, and what we are doing next.
- Actively develop commercial and strategic capability by contributing to client calls and QSRs, with supported ownership where appropriate.
- Provide coaching, peer review, and feedback to specialists and executives to raise standards.
- Support best practice development through templates, processes, and quality checks.
- Contribute to pitches, renewals, and proposals by providing channel insight, evidence, and recommendations.
- Stay up to date with industry changes and translate them into delivery improvements.
- Uphold Liberty’s delivery and quality standards in every aspect of work.
- Own delivery quality and measurable impact across social strategies, content plans, and community management.
- Support client retention and renewal through consistent delivery and clear recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for optimisation, efficiency, and process improvement.
- Support team training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to elevate capability.
- Grow engagement, reach, and conversion metrics across client social channels.
- Drive innovation and testing to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Client Services, SEO, Paid Media, Content, Digital PR, and Social to align activity with wider campaigns and client objectives.

Skills & Competencies (Behavioural)
- Deep understanding of social media strategy, content formats, and analytics across major platforms.
- Proficient in platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X, with awareness of emerging channels.
- Commercially minded, able to connect performance to client goals and outcomes.
- Strong copywriting and visual communication skills.
- Confident communicator who builds trust with clients and colleagues.
- Highly organised and proactive, able to manage priorities across multiple workstreams.
- Collaborative across disciplines, supporting integrated planning and delivery.
- Analytical and solutions-focused, turning insight into clear recommendations.
- Actively developing commercial and strategic capability through client exposure and supported leadership in calls and QSRs.
