Senior Social Sustainability Manager (Transportation & Design)

We're looking for a Senior Social Sustainability Manager (Transportation & Design) to join our Transportation & Design team based in a National role, with travel across Transportation & Design contracts and office locations as required.

Location: National role, with travel across Transportation & Design contracts and office locations as required

Hours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Social Sustainability Manager to join Kier Transportation & Design and play a key role in helping us deliver meaningful social value across our highways, rail, aviation, design and strategic infrastructure work. Reporting to and supporting the Head of Social Sustainability, you'll help lead the delivery of social sustainability commitments, working closely with operational teams, project leads, clients, supply chain partners and support functions. This is a senior role where you'll have the opportunity to influence, guide and support teams across the business, turning client, policy and contract requirements into practical plans that make a real difference for communities.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Social Sustainability Manager (Transportation & Design), you'll be working within the Social Sustainability Team, supporting them in shaping and delivering the social sustainability strategy for infrastructure. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Leading the delivery of social sustainability commitments across Transportation & Design contracts, ensuring activity is aligned to client priorities and contract requirements
  • Working with project teams to turn social value commitments into clear delivery plans with measurable outcomes across highways, rail, design and infrastructure programmes
  • Partnering with work winning and bid teams to develop credible social value responses linked to employment, skills, education, community investment and inclusion
  • Building strong relationships with clients, operational leaders, supply chain partners, local authorities, education providers and community organisations
  • Leading on social value reporting, evidence gathering and data quality, supporting clear audit trails for internal governance and client reporting

Requirements

This role of Senior Social Sustainability Manager (Transportation & Design) is great for you if:

  • You have demonstrable experience in social value, social impact or social sustainability delivery, ideally within infrastructure, transportation, design, construction, utilities or public sector frameworks
  • You have a good understanding of how social value is delivered across the project lifecycle, from work winning and mobilisation through to contract delivery and reporting
  • You have the confidence to influence, advise and build trusted relationships with operational teams, clients, supply chain partners and community organisations
  • You have strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep activity focused on measurable outcomes
  • You have a clear and confident communication style, with the ability to present information and provide practical guidance to teams
