Senior Social Worker – Child Protection & Court Team
Location: Sandwell Children's Trust, West Midlands (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £44,253 – £49,817 (dependent on experience)
Annual Retention Payment: £2,500
Contract: Permanent
Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Sandwell Children's Trust to recruit a Senior Social Worker to join their Child Protection & Court Team.
Sandwell Children's Trust delivers children's social care across the borough with a clear practice model and a strong focus on outcomes for children. The Child Protection & Court Team holds the most complex safeguarding and care proceedings work in the service, so this is a role for an experienced practitioner who is confident in court, comfortable with risk and able to support colleagues through demanding cases.

As a Senior Social Worker within the Child Protection & Court Team, you will:
- Hold a caseload of complex child protection, pre-proceedings, and care proceedings work, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
- Complete high-quality, strengths-based assessments and court reports that clearly analyse risk, need, and protective factors.
- Represent the Trust in court and at multi-agency meetings, giving clear and confident evidence.
- Lead on the more complex cases within the team and offer advice, guidance, and support to less experienced colleagues.
- Work closely with legal services, the police, health, and education partners to secure the right outcomes for children.
About You
You will be an experienced and capable practitioner with:
- A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care, including child protection and care proceedings.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills and the confidence to hold complexity and risk.
- The ability to mentor and support colleagues and contribute to a strong practice culture.
- A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.
