Senior Social Worker

£42k | Pontefract | Hybrid Working | Regional Travel | Permanent

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of a key client for an experienced Personal Welfare Manager / Senior Social Worker to lead a team delivering vital welfare services across Yorkshire and the North East.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker or experienced Health & Social Care professional looking for a role combining team leadership, professional practice, and meaningful client impact.

The Role

You will lead and manage a regional team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, person-centred service to older people, individuals with disabilities, and their families.

  • Leading, managing, and developing the regional team.
  • Overseeing caseload allocation, case management, and service quality.
  • Providing supervision, appraisals, case reviews, and practice support.
  • Managing a small caseload where required.
  • Acting as regional Safeguarding Lead.
  • Driving service performance and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting clients with welfare benefits, mobility, financial issues, social isolation, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Building effective relationships with partner agencies and professionals.
  • Supporting the development and promotion of services across the region.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • A relevant professional qualification in Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Health & Social Care.
  • Current professional registration where applicable.
  • Proven experience leading or managing a team within health or social care.
  • Experience of community-based services, ideally supporting older people and/or those with disabilities.
  • Good knowledge of the welfare benefits system and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive, practical, and collaborative approach.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Flexibility to travel across Yorkshire and the North East, including occasional overnight stays.

Qualified and registered Social Workers are preferred.

The role is based from Pontefract, with regional travel.

Candidates local to Pontefract will be primarily office-based, whilst those based in the North East can be considered for a more hybrid arrangement, with at least one day per week in Pontefract.

A satisfactory DBS check will be required.
