We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Hub!
This is a full-time permanent role with hybrid working and a salary of £47,831 - £52,414 per annum plus an annual retention bonus of £3,000 subject to eligibility. We are open to job share and part-time applicants.

The Role
Working closely with adults across RBWM, you will fulfil the duties and responsibilities of Senior Social Worker based within the Safeguarding Adults Hub, to oversee the team and support with the screening and triage of new Safeguarding referrals from partner agencies to assess if the criteria for S42 enquiry has been met. The team raise and respond to Safeguarding concerns; liaising with multi agency partners and working in collaboration with the person to manage levels of risk and implement a protection plan through the S42 process. The Senior has a key role in ensuring the performance and best practice of the team; supervising social workers and social care practitioners in this regard.

This role is based within the Safeguarding Adults Hub, which is a lively and vibrant team promoting Best Practice and Service Excellence.
Your Role Will Involve
- The responsibility for the professional development, supervision and performance of Safeguarding Hub staff designated for supervision including staff from other disciplines and social work students as required and appropriate.
- Ensuring that appropriate safeguarding processes are in place for vulnerable adults working within the requirements of relevant legislation, the national agenda, and the Policies and Procedures of RBWM as appropriate to the responsibilities of the post.
- To manage a caseload including complex assessments and casework.
- To chair meetings including Adult Safeguarding, Risk Frameworks, Best Interests, and professionals’ meetings.
- To respond to duty queries and requests from practitioners and partner agencies supporting clinical decision making and providing case advise; providing guidance and case direction for wider social care staff in collaboration with the Safeguarding Manager.
This role will report to the Safeguarding Manager who will provide monthly supervision and reflective spaces for shared learning opportunities. The team promotes an open learning culture, positive risk taking and the delivery of a high standard of service to our residents.
What We Are Looking For
An experienced and enthusiastic Senior Social Worker who holds an appropriate social work qualification and has a current registration with Social Work England.
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate significant relevant post–qualification Safeguarding experience and the ability to lead staff and partners through the process of achieving the persons desired outcomes. As Senior Social Worker you will have experience of triaging Safeguarding referrals and an ability to understand multiple issues of risk by translating this into a RAG rating system for appropriate action. A clear understanding of safeguarding processes and the protection of adults at risk is essential in this role. You will also understand the data requirements of performance monitoring, and an awareness of the impact of this on the organisational wide outcomes achieved for the adults we support.
