About The Role

A fantastic opportunity to join a team at the forefront of fuel cell development to play your part in powering the hydrogen future.

As a Software & Controls Engineer within the Product Development team, you will be responsible for developing embedded control strategies and designing, implementing, and maintaining firmware using C (embedded systems) and C# (PC applications). You will support the full product development lifecycle, from early-stage prototypes through to production-ready products, following a robust and structured development process.

You will apply first-principles engineering knowledge and system-level understanding to develop model-based control strategies. An appreciation of fuel cell electrochemistry, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electrical system behaviour is desirable to enable robust control system design and simulation-based development.

In this role, you will undertake hands-on validation and verification activities on physical hardware, enabling effective debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance optimisation at both component and system levels. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-quality software solutions that meet product and customer requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
