About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Landmark, you take full ownership of feature development across the entire cycle:
- From requirement specifications to design, implementation
- Testing, delivery, and production deployment
- With minimal supervision and decisive technical judgment
You will:
- Paint the big picture with perfect oversight while ensuring technical excellence
- Contribute to code reviews, improve the codebase, and refine processes—without waiting for direction
- Mentor junior engineers by enhancing team quality and compounding growth
- Collaborate on building systems critical to decisions observed by energy operators worldwide
Strong software engineering fundamentals form the key requirement—domain expertise can be developed during employment.
Available positions accommodate a range of teams with varying domain and technology specialisations.

What You Will Do

End-to-end feature ownership:
- Analyze requirements
- Design end-to-end solutions
- Implement the codebase
- Test rigorously
- Deliver robust products

Break down large specifications into clear, actionable tasks with realistic timelines

Identify and fix technical weaknesses across codebase, test coverage, and development workflows

Investigate and resolve production defects efficiently by tracing complex root causes

Embrace secure coding practices
- Spot vulnerabilities during code review sessions
- Fix them proactively

Be just as rigorous when reviewing peers’ code

Evaluate and integrate open-source tools & libraries to improve system performance

Mentor junior engineers through regular code reviews, pair programming, and direct coaching

Effective communication: Clear across distributed and across- timezone teams
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of hands-on software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one language from: Java, C#/F# (via .NET), C++, Python, or TypeScript (known to include React/Angular)
- Experience with full development lifecycle (analysis → design → implementation → testing → delivery)
- Debugging and root cause resolution experience in complex production environments
Soft Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication to explain technical decisions, weigh tradeoff discussions with stakeholders and teammates
Preferred
- Experience in cloud-native development, full-stack tooling, or data platform technologies
- Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and infrastructure automation tools
- Background in enterprise software, SaaS, or data-intensive applications
- Areas: scientific computing, real-time systems, large-scale data processing
- Integration of ML, generative AI, or LLM components into application features
- Direct mentoring experience of junior engineers
- Familiarity with the energy industry (a beneficial but not mandatory plus)
