About the Role

At DTC, our Software Engineers enjoy a varied role with a steady stream of challenging projects to work on.

As a Senior Software Engineer within our Applications Team, you will lead the design, development and maintenance of complex desktop and mobile applications that underpin our product portfolio across multiple sectors.

You will work across the full product lifecycle, shaping requirements, defining scalable architectures, and delivering secure, high integrity software used in operational environments.

The role combines enhancement of established, nationally deployed platforms with the development of new products and capabilities, particularly within emerging military applications.

You will develop in modern C++ across multiple platforms, collaborate closely with embedded, hardware and RF engineers, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence through code reviews, mentoring and continuous improvement.

This is a hands on, engineering led role based on site in Whiteley, working within the Applications Team and closely with the Embedded and Hardware Team. Informal flexibility is available, but regular on-site presence is essential.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong proficiency in modern C++
  • Experience developing secure, high integrity application software
  • Multi-platform experience across desktop and mobile environments
  • Experience with IP networking, secure communications and database technologies
  • Confidence working within complex, hardware integrated systems
  • Qt programming skills would be useful but is not essential
  • MongoDB would be useful but is not essential
