Senior Software Developer / Integration Manager

Location: Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you’ll be based there in the future - Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office a week – Leeds).
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Developer / Integration Manager to join the Tech team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Join us as a Senior Software Developer and help shape the future of our cloud-based platforms. Working with.NET (C#) and Azure, you'll design and deliver scalable microservice APIs that power customer-facing applications. Collaborating with architects and cross-functional Agile teams, you'll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, champion best practices, and build innovative solutions that make a real impact across the business.
Where you fit in:
As our Senior Software Developer / Integration Manager you will:
- Input into the design and lead development of global APIs, and the associated integration whilst maintaining and supporting the IT Programme of work.
- Contribute to the software development standards and governance whilst ensuring that deliverables by you and the wider team adherence to them.
- Contribute to the technical procurement and adoption standards for commercial services and systems.
- As a senior development you will be accountable for Identifying technical tasks from user stories during refinement and create high quality detailed technical lower-level designs of the technical solution.
- Deliver software services that are robust, reliable and secure in nature, which are technically fit for purpose and meet specified acceptance criteria.
- Keep abreast of changes within their software domain, demonstrating innovation to exploit existing and new technologies to promote reduce costs, manage risk and build resilience.
- Undertake specialist detailed and complex troubleshooting activities within your technical discipline.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Strong background in C# / .NET development (Framework and/or Core) with commercial experience delivering robust and reliable API services within Azure cloud environment.
- Proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets, in two or more of the following technical disciplines:
- API development using Microsoft.NET 8 (C#, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, etc.)
- MS SQL and database design experience including writing SQL scripts.
- Excellent understanding of Service Oriented Architecture design that integrate correctly.
- Excellent knowledge of documentation, testing and release management principles with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Highly motivated and self-reliant with a personal drive for continuous development you will have proven analytical and problem-solving abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the system development lifecycle including DevOps processes, CI/CD, writing Unit Tests etc.
