πŸš€ Senior Software Developer

Remote within the UK, with occasional team meet-ups in London when useful

About Webigence and the Role

Webigence has 25+ years of experience crafting UX-first, often highly complex software. Our engineers pair pragmatic, forward-thinking development practices with an obsession for intuitive design, shipping products that feel effortless even when the logic underneath is anything but.

Alongside developing our own SaaS products, we build and support important software platforms for a small number of long-standing clients.

We are now looking for a Senior Software Developer to join Webigence in a predominantly dedicated role working with a profitable, established healthtech business. Approximately 95% of your time will be committed to its software projects, product development and technical priorities.

You will be employed by Webigence and become part of our experienced, collaborative development team, while also developing a close working relationship with the healthtech client's stakeholders and taking substantial ownership of the systems and priorities assigned to you.

This offers the best of both worlds: the continuity and influence that come from becoming deeply involved with one successful business, backed by the wider experience, support and technical collaboration of the Webigence team.

The remaining portion of your time may occasionally be spent supporting other Webigence products or long-standing client systems where useful.

This is a hands-on senior development role for someone who enjoys understanding complex requirements, making sensible technical decisions and delivering reliable software that stands up in the real world.

We are deliberately pragmatic. We use AI and newer technologies where they clearly solve real problems, but we are not interested in chasing hype. We care about clear thinking, sensible architecture, intuitive user experiences and software that is maintainable, supportable and commercially valuable.

🌟 Your Impact

  • Become a key technical contributor to an established healthtech business. Approximately 95% of your time will be committed to its projects and development priorities, allowing you to make a sustained contribution rather than moving briefly between unrelated assignments.
  • Raise the bar sensibly. Set high standards without over-engineering, and help us make good technical decisions that balance speed, quality, maintainability and commercial reality.
  • Build software that matters. Your work will directly contribute to the continued development and improvement of business-critical healthtech systems and services.
  • Own the craft. Understand the problem, ask good questions, ship the solution, diagnose issues properly and improve what already works.
  • Work across the stack. You will contribute to .NET APIs, Angular front ends, SQL Server-backed workflows, Azure-hosted services, integrations, automations and user-facing functionality.
  • Build lasting knowledge. Because this is a predominantly dedicated role, you will gain a detailed understanding of the client's systems, requirements and priorities, giving you the context needed to make increasingly valuable contributions over time.
  • Represent Webigence well. You will work closely with both Webigence colleagues and client stakeholders, communicating clearly, following through on commitments and helping maintain a productive long-term partnership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

🧭 Role Snapshot

Senior Software Developer

Remote within the UK, with occasional team meet-ups in London when useful

Employed by Webigence, with approximately 95% of your working time committed to an established healthtech client

You will:

  • Design, build and maintain features across the stack, including.NET / C# APIs, Angular / TypeScript front ends, SQL Server, Azure services and related integrations.
  • Spend approximately 95% of your working time on healthtech projects, development tasks, technical improvements and production support.
  • Build a strong understanding of the client's systems, business requirements and technical priorities.
  • Work closely with client stakeholders and the wider Webigence team to turn complex requirements into intuitive, maintainable software.
  • Take ownership of assigned work from initial investigation and technical design through to implementation, testing, release and follow-up.
  • Investigate and diagnose issues properly across browser behaviour, APIs, application logs, Azure services, external integrations and database layers.
  • Write clean, maintainable and tested code that can be understood and supported by the wider team.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, challenge assumptions constructively and explain the trade-offs behind your recommendations.
  • Help improve established systems without assuming that everything needs to be rewritten or replaced.
  • Contribute to the reliability, security, performance and maintainability of the systems you work on.
  • Use modern tooling sensibly, including CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions, Azure monitoring and logging tools, and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
  • Occasionally contribute to other Webigence products or long-standing client systems when required.
  • Be comfortable working in a remote-first team where clear written communication, ownership and self-direction matter.

βœ… You Might Be Our Senior Developer If...

  • You have 6+ years of commercial software development experience, with strong hands-on C# / .NET experience.
  • You have built and supported modern web applications, ideally using Angular / TypeScript or another major JavaScript framework.
  • You are comfortable working across APIs, front-end code, data access, integrations and production troubleshooting.
  • You can reason through a problem end-to-end, including browser behaviour, API payloads, application logs, backend logic, Azure services, external integrations and database state.
  • You are comfortable becoming deeply involved in one client's systems and priorities over the long term.
  • You can build productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You understand good engineering principles, but you are pragmatic rather than dogmatic.
  • You can explain technical decisions clearly, including the trade-offs, risks and alternatives involved.
  • You care about usability and product quality, not just whether the code technically works.
  • You are happy being a hands-on individual contributor while still supporting and improving the wider engineering team.
  • You have hands-on experience working with Azure and, ideally, some experience configuring, managing or troubleshooting Azure resources.
  • You take ownership of problems rather than stopping at the boundary of your immediate task or preferred technology.
  • You understand that seniority means judgement, communication, reliability and follow-through, not simply years of experience.

🧠 What We're Looking For Technically

We are especially interested in developers who can demonstrate strength in several of the following areas:

  • C# / .NET 8+
  • ASP.NET Web API
  • Angular / TypeScript
  • SQL Server
  • Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights or related Azure services
  • Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines and release processes
  • API integrations and webhook-based workflows
  • Automated testing and practical test strategy
  • Logging, monitoring and production diagnostics
  • Complex business workflows, rules engines or operational systems
  • Supporting and improving established production systems
  • Diagnosing issues that cross application, integration, cloud and database boundaries
  • Working closely with external stakeholders within a long-term client relationship
  • Healthtech, healthcare or another environment involving important and business-critical systems

You do not need to be an expert in everything, but you do need to be genuinely hands-on and keen to keep improving.

Azure experience is beneficial. Previous healthtech or healthcare experience would be useful, but it is not essential. Sound technical judgement, ownership and the ability to understand complex systems are more important.
