An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Developer

Join a high-performing technology team responsible for architecting, developing, and enhancing sophisticated trading and research systems.

This role would suit a strong C#/.NET engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and wants to have genuine influence over the architecture and direction of the systems they build.

You will work on a combination of greenfield development and the continuous improvement of established platforms, building high-performance, reliable, and scalable applications that directly support real-world trading strategies and quantitative research.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will have the opportunity to influence technical architecture, development standards, performance optimisation, and engineering best practices, while working closely with researchers, traders, and other technical specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications using C# and modern .NET
  • Take ownership of significant software development projects from initial design through to production
  • Contribute to and lead architectural and technical design decisions
  • Design and develop scalable systems supporting automated trading, research, and data-driven applications
  • Work closely with quantitative researchers and traders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
  • Develop, optimise, and maintain relational database solutions using SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications, databases, and supporting infrastructure
  • Develop solutions with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, maintainability, and performance
  • Contribute to the design of multi-threaded, concurrent, and potentially distributed applications
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain consistently high engineering standards
  • Establish and promote software development best practices across the team
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers
  • Contribute to development tooling, automation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Investigate complex technical issues and provide effective, long-term solutions
  • Help shape coding standards, development processes, and overall engineering practices
  • Stay current with developments across the C#/.NET ecosystem and modern software engineering practices

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
