A brief summary

A hands on engineering role on Gravity Media’s in-house.NET booking platform, spanning software development and the DevOps practices that support it. You’ll lead the design and delivery of complex features and integrations, own the application’s CI/CD, environments, monitoring and release tooling, mentor other developers and act as a technical deputy to the Tech Lead. Two developers share this role and provide full cover for one another across both the development and operational sides of the platform.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Lead the technical design and end to end delivery of complex application features, enhancements and third party integrations, turning complex or unclear business requirements into practical, well designed solutions.
  • Own defined areas of application architecture, documenting decisions, dependencies and trade-offs, and identify and address technical debt, performance issues and maintainability risks.
  • Provide senior technical review of code, designs and releases, acting as an approval point for higher risk application changes when delegated by the Tech Lead.
  • Own the application CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, environment configuration and infrastructure as code within the frameworks set by Group IT, ensuring delivery is reliable, repeatable and appropriately controlled.
  • Own automated regression testing and release quality controls, ensuring changes meet agreed functional, technical, security and performance standards.
  • Implement and maintain application monitoring, logging and alerting, and develop and regularly test backup and recovery procedures in line with Group IT standards.
  • Lead technical investigation of complex application, deployment and performance incidents, capturing root causes and preventative actions and engaging Group IT on infrastructure, identity/access or cyber security issues.
  • Mentor Developers and the Junior Developer through coaching, pairing and technical review, and support the Tech Lead in maintaining engineering standards, documentation and release practices.
  • Maintain runbooks, configuration records and operational documentation so that the other Senior Software Developer can provide effective cover across development and operational responsibilities.
  • Work with Group IT, third party system providers and technical partners on shared dependencies, integration design and issue resolution, and use approved AI assisted tooling with appropriate validation and human oversight.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements

  • Depth in either C#/.NET development or DevOps/platform engineering, with solid working capability in the other and a willingness to work across both; the two post holders cover each other fully.
  • C#/.NET experience delivering and operating complex production applications, including application design, API and systems integration.
  • Experience of CI/CD, deployment automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring and backup/recovery in production, using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or comparable tooling.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing, secure development, cyber security, identity/access and change control principles, with the judgement to escalate matters outside application ownership.
  • Ability to turn complex or ambiguous requirements into deliverable solutions and explain technical options and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring other developers, with a calm, structured approach to incidents and strong documentation skills.
  • Confidence working across software engineering, Business Systems, Group IT and third party partners; Dynamics 365 Business Central or other ERP integration experience is highly desirable.
