Senior Software Engineer (AWS) | Senior Cloud Engineer
Full Time - London - Hybrid - Two days a week on site
Up to £93k with a 15% bonus.
Overview
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing engineering team, focused on designing, building, and supporting cloud-native solutions on AWS.
This role is ideal for a strong Senior Individual Contributor who enjoys owning technical delivery end-to-end, working closely with stakeholders, and driving solutions from concept through to production.
The successful candidate will operate as the primary engineering presence in the UK time zone, making strong communication, ownership, and accountability essential.
While software engineering experience is important, the specific language or runtime is less critical than deep AWS knowledge, Infrastructure as Code experience, and the ability to operate independently.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support cloud-native applications and services on AWS
- Own technical delivery from discovery and solution design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and Engineering teams to shape solutions and refine requirements
- Contribute to architectural decisions across distributed and event-driven systems
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK and other IaC tools
- Improve system reliability, scalability, observability, and operational efficiency
- Act as a trusted technical partner for stakeholders during UK business hours
- Support production systems, incident response, and continuous improvement activities
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance and best-practice sharing
- Drive pragmatic solutions that balance business needs and technical excellence

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
