About Us

A rare opportunity to join a true AI-native startup outside London and San Francisco.

We're building business-critical software for an industry most people never think about until it touches them, or someone close to them. It's an industry that the UK and many other developed economies need in order to function. We support professionals who step into situations that have often gone wrong, and right now they're doing it on software that's slow and dated.

We are an AI-native startup with a focus on engineering and product. To us being AI-native doesn't just mean using AI tools. We're building a software factory where AI writes much of our code and we design, direct, review and ship it. At the heart of the product is our own agent harness, built on the latest frontier and open-source models and tooling to deliver the best product possible for users.

We're well capitalised, backed by an industry partner, led by a founder with domain experience, and growing our team. We will remain in stealth until our launch in 2027.

There's no fixed ladder here. The people who join now will shape how we build, and those who perform will grow into whatever role they want to take on.

Your Role

You'll work closely with our CEO, Lead Architect and Founding Lead Engineer. This is a hands-on role focused on building. We move very fast and ship a lot, so you'll own features end to end and see your work in users' hands quickly.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build and ship features across our Python back end and Typescript front end, within the agreed architecture using spec driven development
  • Use AI coding tools and agents to produce high volumes of well-tested code, and review AI-generated output with a critical eye
  • Build and extend the agent layer, including tools, orchestration flows, human-in-the-loop approvals, and the evals that show whether a change helped or hurt
  • Review pull requests and uphold the engineering standards the team sets
  • Implement security and compliance features such as RBAC and audit logging
  • Build data migration pipelines away from the incumbent
  • Take part in releases, production diagnostics and incident response

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What We're Looking For

You don't need every line below, but you should recognise yourself in most of it:

  • Solid experience building and shipping production software, ideally B2B SaaS
  • Strong with Python and a modern TypeScript front end
  • Solid relational database understanding (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs, and using AI tools to write and review code
  • Some experience with agent harnesses, including evals, tracing and observability. Direct experience with agent orchestration and eval tooling is a strong plus
  • Working experience with AWS, ideally including services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Aurora/RDS, Step Functions, SQS/SNS and CloudWatch
  • Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code experience is a plus
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and debugging live systems

Who Thrives Here

  • Rapid iteration: you ship often, learn fast and adjust. You're comfortable when priorities change mid-week and you adapt without losing momentum.
  • Open to new ways of working: the way software is built is changing quickly. You're actively upskilling, trying new tools and models, and rethinking your own workflow as the field moves.
  • Ownership: there are no layers of approval to hide behind. You feel responsible for the outcome, not just the ticket.
  • Team spirit: one person does not disrupt an industry alone. You work well in a small team focused on reaching product-market fit and scaling.
