Would you like to kick start your career in a supportive, collaborative and innovative company?

Do you enjoy working as part of an enthusiastic, passionate, and collaborative team?

Join our Service Systems Team

The Services Systems Engineering team delivers technical solutions that improve how internal teams operate across the business. We work closely with product, platform, architecture, operations and business stakeholders to understand problems, design practical solutions, and build sustainable software that supports real business outcomes.

Our solutions range from system integrations and automation through to full application development, deployment, support and ongoing improvement. We encourage curiosity, ownership and innovation, and you will have the chance to contribute to better ways of working and help deliver products that make a meaningful difference to our internal users and customers.

This is a hands-on Senior Software Engineer role within one of our product squads, operating as part of our Product and Platform model.

You will work closely with Product, the Team Lead and the Principal Engineer, who hold overall technical direction; your contribution is strong individual delivery, sound technical judgement, and raising the bar through the quality of your own work and the support you give peers.

You should care about more than the code itself. We're looking for someone who delivers customer-focused outcomes for internal users, seeks feedback, challenges assumptions constructively, and helps the squad make sensible trade-offs between delivery, maintainability, reliability and business value.

You'll thrive in a team that values ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement, with “you build it, you support it” central to how we work.

As Senior Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Product squad delivery: Build and ship production code as a core hands-on contributor within a cross-functional product squad
  • Automation and integration: Design and build automation and integration solutions across internal systems and third-party platforms, reducing manual effort
  • Performance and architecture: Apply sound performance and architectural judgement to keep what you build maintainable and scalable, in line with direction set by the Principal Engineer and Team Lead
  • Hands-on programming: Write clean, well-tested code in Node.js, React, Python and Go, meeting our standards for performance, scalability and security
  • Mentoring and knowledge sharing: Support junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, code reviews and technical discussion, contributing to a collaborative engineering culture

We'd love you to have:

  • Automation and integration skills: Experience building automation or integrations that improve business processes or connect systems reliably, including APIs and third-party platforms
  • Mentoring and support for others: A track record of supporting less experienced engineers through code reviews, pairing or informal mentoring, without needing to be the formal technical authority
  • Collaboration and communication: Confidence working with cross-functional stakeholders, and the ability to explain technical concepts in plain, business-friendly language
  • Ownership and accountability: A genuine belief in “you build it, you support it”, with the discipline to monitor and resolve issues in what you own
