Senior Software Engineer (.NET & AI Platforms)

Managed Services Provider

Mainly remote with travel

£60,000 - £70,000 DOE

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our client's Platform team and help build and develop their AI ecosystem. You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team, working across internal applications, shared services and reusable capabilities that help drive AI adoption across the organisation.

This is a hands-on role, split across software engineering / delivery and covering technical leadership, solution design and working with stakeholders. You’ll take ownership of technical workstreams and implementation decisions, working within the wider direction set by the Principal Architect. The focus is very much on application and platform software.

You’ll work in a remote-first, agile environment, helping to improve existing solutions while also learning and developing as AI technologies continue to evolve. If you’re a strong .NET engineer who is interested in developing your AI expertise, this could be a great opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise applications, APIs and shared services using C#,.NET, ASP.NET and Blazor.
  • Build AI-powered applications, including RAG solutions, AI agents and orchestration capabilities.
  • Lead technical workstreams, assess different approaches and make implementation decisions within the agreed architectural direction.
  • Create reusable platform components and accelerators, supported by documentation and examples that can be adopted by other teams.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications, with a focus on scalability, performance, maintainability and reusability.
  • Carry out code reviews, develop unit and integration tests and contribute to engineering standards and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, release processes and reliable software delivery.
  • Support production troubleshooting, incident investigation and root cause analysis, helping to improve performance and meet service-level commitments.
  • Occasionally support customer-facing applications alongside the Service Delivery team.
  • During your first year, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver AI capabilities that are adopted across multiple teams and contribute to the continued development of the platform architecture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
