Principal / Lead / Senior Software Engineer

Location: Liverpool (Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite)

Contract: Initial 6 Months

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

About the Role

We are recruiting for Principal, Lead, and Senior Software Engineers to join a high-performing technology team on an initial 6-month contract.

These are hands-on engineering roles where you will design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient software solutions while contributing to technical leadership across Agile delivery squads. Depending on your level of experience, you will take ownership of software delivery, lead engineering teams, or help shape the wider technical strategy and architecture.

Working alongside Product Owners, Architects, Engineering Managers, Business Analysts, and fellow Engineers, you will play a key role in building modern cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. You will champion engineering best practices, contribute to technical decision-making, mentor other engineers, and help drive continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
