About the role
The way great software gets built is changing fast and we’re changing with it. Haven Product & Technology are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to use AI to ship resilient, well-crafted software and is genuinely excited about weaving AI-powered experiences into products used by millions of holidaymakers every year.
You’ll join a multidisciplinary team writing clean, well-tested code that goes to production quickly and confidently. This is a high-impact role at the heart of a bold digital transformation. If you love shipping customer-facing software, thrive in a cloud-first environment, and believe AI is the next frontier of great engineering, we want to hear from you. You can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as you’re happy to travel occasionally to meet the team and stakeholders.
Your Opportunity

Use AI development tools (like Claude) as part of your everyday workflow to accelerate delivery and raise quality

Contribute to designing and building AI-powered features into Haven’s digital products

Design, build and ship well-crafted web applications straight into production

Write clean, resilient, well-tested code - end-to-end problem solving from concept through to production

Collaborate across a multidisciplinary team to decide when software is ready to ship

Take ownership of how what you build performs in production

Maintain high-quality documentation and share knowledge freely

Improve NPS and customer scores through great engineering choices

Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, experimentation and technical excellence

Help shape how AI is adopted responsibly and effectively across the engineering team

What we’d like you to bring
- Fluency with or a strong desire to learn AI-assisted development tools and a track record of using them to work smarter, not just faster.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.JS, JavaScript / TypeScript, TDD, PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases) and React
- Full-stack expertise with an equal bias towards backend and frontend
- Solid experience of building responsive designs, performance-optimised interfaces and best-in-class frontend components across a variety of third-party systems
- A core understanding of digital products (User cases, users, interactions) to build the right solution for the customer
- Comfort operating in a cloud-first environment
- A strong collaborative streak and a bias for shipping

We’re part of an award-winning Bourne Leisure family, which includes Haven & Warner Hotels. We have 9,000 fantastic team members and 39 beautiful seaside locations and our HQ based in Hemel Hempstead.
