Senior Data & AI Engineer
IGA Talent is partnered with a leading technology-enabled sustainability consultancy to appoint a Senior Data & AI Engineer.
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing organisation operating at the intersection of AI, data engineering, and sustainability. You'll play a key role in developing innovative AI-driven solutions and data platforms used by institutional investors, corporates, and other global organisations to support complex sustainability and investment-related decision-making.

The Opportunity
Joining a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial team, you'll work across both product development and client delivery, helping to build AI-powered assessment tools, scalable data infrastructure, and robust evaluation frameworks. Working closely with consultants, domain specialists, and senior leadership, you'll help transform complex methodologies into repeatable, auditable technical solutions that deliver meaningful insights for clients.
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain AI-powered assessment and information extraction pipelines
- Develop and own data models and ingestion processes for large and complex datasets
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Design evaluation frameworks and quality assurance processes to improve AI reliability and performance
- Contribute to backend development, APIs, deployment, monitoring, and platform scalability
- Drive engineering best practices and help define technical standards as the team grows
- Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to a high-performing engineering culture
Who we're looking for:
- Over 4 years' experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong Python development skills and experience building production-grade data pipelines
- Practical experience working with Large Language Models, including prompt engineering, evaluation, and production deployment
- Strong SQL, relational data modelling, and data architecture capabilities
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ownership and autonomy
- Experience within financial services, investment management, sustainability, ESG, or document processing environments would be advantageous
