About The Role

Doist is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Service Delivery team. This is a full-time position that offers flexibility to work remotely within the UK time zone or from our office in Bracknell, UK. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable APIs and microservices that underpin our customer provisioning, management, and analytics platforms. Your work will directly support internal teams and enhance the experience of our global user base. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, particularly with asynchronous frameworks, and possess substantial cloud computing experience with platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions that align with Doist's mission of empowering productivity worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of developing scalable backend systems.
  • Expertise in Python, especially with asynchronous frameworks such as asyncio, FastAPI, or similar technologies.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP and AWS, including deployment, scaling, and security best practices.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to ensure continuous integration and delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable APIs and microservices that support customer onboarding, management, and analytics functionalities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of the platform through best practices and continuous monitoring.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing and deployment pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable releases.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior team members, and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continually enhance platform capabilities.
