Software Engineer (Contract) – Systematic Hedge Fund
Day rate: £750 - £850 inside IR-35
Position Overview
A leading systematic hedge fund is looking for a strong Software Engineer to support the continued development, scaling and operation of a high-performance computing platform.
The role will focus on distributed systems, platform engineering and infrastructure, with an opportunity to work on large-scale challenges across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Extending the platform into AWS
- Increasing scalability towards one million concurrent tasks
- Improving deployment automation
- Developing tooling to support the management and reliability of the platform

You will work closely with the engineering team to deliver tested, documented and production-ready software within a highly technical environment.
Key Skills
- Strong Software Engineering experience with Golang
- Deep understanding of distributed systems
- Experience working with high-performance computing or large-scale infrastructure
- AWS / cloud engineering experience
- Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
- Strong understanding of deployment automation and platform tooling
- Experience with reliability, monitoring, logging and operational tooling
- Knowledge of access controls and security within production environments
- Strong testing, documentation and code-review practices
- Experience working within high-performance engineering teams
