Why this role, why now
Aviation security teams and airline operators make real decisions off what Osprey's platform tells them, so the software behind it has to be right. You'd join a lean, six-person engineering team spanning front-end, back-end and DevOps/platform, small enough that what you build actually ships, rather than queuing behind layers of process.
We've just closed a £40 million growth investment and are building out engineering to match, so you'd be joining while the codebase and the team are still small enough to shape. This is a genuinely remote role, not remote-with-conditions.
What you'll be doing
- Play a key role in delivering new product capability as part of a small team that ships on time, at quality.
- Support what's already live: investigate and resolve support desk issues within SLA, and own contained pockets of technical debt, escalating the harder cases to technical leadership.
- Give informed estimates on everything from fully scoped work to raw ideas, and flag blockers early rather than sitting on them.
- Help shape what gets built next, contributing to PRDs, technical feasibility testing and prototyping during discovery.
- Design solutions that fit Osprey's reference architecture, and take the more complex proposals to the technical design authority.
- Break work into small, shippable pieces with your team, and take planned production changes through change management, so you can show you release safely.
- Support less senior engineers around you, and bring genuine empathy for how end users actually use what you build, backed by solid test automation.
- Work closely with Data Science, Data Engineering and DevOps when a deliverable calls for it.

What you'll bring
- Commercial full-stack development experience; Osprey's stack centres on.NET, C# and React.
- Experience delivering in an Agile, SaaS environment.
- A track record of adapting well when priorities or requirements shift.
- Clear, concise communication, written and verbal.
- Comfort working independently and delivering sustained value with minimal supervision.

- Exposure to aviation, security, InsurTech or another data-intensive B2B SaaS domain.
- Experience mentoring or supporting less senior engineers.
- Comfort presenting technical proposals to a design authority or similarly rigorous review process.
