Senior Software Engineer | Energy Trading | up to £150k + 30% bonus
We’re working with a leading organisation within the energy and commodities sector that is looking for a Senior Engineer to join its energy trading technology team.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on the modernisation and evolution of a critical energy trading platform. You’ll play a key role in transforming the technology landscape, delivering complex platform enhancements and helping move the business towards a more scalable, resilient and modern architecture.

You’ll own technical solutions from design through to deployment and production support, while working closely with Product, Business Analysis and Architecture teams to turn commercial requirements into scalable technology.

Experience required:
- Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using C#/.NET
- Experience within energy trading, commodities or ETRM/CTRM environments
- Expertise in APIs, integrations, distributed systems and cloud-native applications
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, resilience and security
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills, including optimisation and production troubleshooting
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and modern DevOps practices
- A track record of leading complex technical initiatives within business-critical environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or similar
