About the role:

Join our global R&D team and play a key role in designing, developing and enhancing high-performance Linux server software solutions. You'll work on platform systems, networking technologies and scalable products, taking ownership of complex projects from concept to delivery. As a senior engineer, you'll help drive technical excellence, influence engineering decisions, mentor colleagues, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer and business needs.

What you’ll do:

  • Software Development

    • Design and implement software in C & C++
    • Develop and maintain software running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and Rocky Linux platforms
    • Investigate and fix performance, stability, and reliability issues, using appropriate Linux tools and debugging techniques to identify and resolve root causes
    • Design and implement services that support fault tolerance, failover, service recovery, and system resilience
  • Systems & Networking

    • Develop and maintain networking components, protocols, and communication stacks.
    • Implement and optimise support for IP-based networking, multicast/unicast streaming, and real-time data transfer.
    • Troubleshoot network performance issues and ensure robust, secure communication between devices.
    • Work with transport streams, packetization, and low-latency data paths.
  • Video Technologies

    • Work with streaming formats such as MPEG-TS, HLS, or similar delivery protocols.
    • Collaborate with multimedia teams to integrate codecs, transcoders, and streaming modules.
  • Agile Development

    • Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Collaborate with product owners and architects to refine requirements and break down user stories.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of Agile processes, team velocity, and delivery quality.
    • Promote transparency, iterative development, and shared ownership across the engineering team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
