The Opportunity
Join Attest at a pivotal moment: we're transforming how the world's leading brands discover and act on consumer insights. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Measure squad, you'll help grow and evolve Attest Measure, our quantitative survey platform that gives brands robust, at-scale consumer research — from survey design and fielding through to dynamic analysis and storytelling. Measure's remit spans the full research journey, including how Compass, our AI co-pilot, supports survey creation and analysis within Measure.
Attest powers insights for brands like Netflix, Unilever, Nestle, and Reddit, connecting them to 150+ million consumers across 59 countries. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Measure squad, you'll work on complex challenges spanning frontend engineering, backend services, and data visualisation, shaping how leading brands make faster and more confident decisions.
This isn't just about shipping features. You'll shape technical direction within your squad, contribute scalable patterns across the stack, and mentor engineers while working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Data Science.
This is a full stack role with a leaning towards frontend. Our frontend stack includes VueJS, TypeScript, and OpenAPI; our backend stack is primarily Java (Spring Boot) and Python, with some legacy Go. We're constantly evolving how we build and deliver software, and we're increasingly looking for engineers who work in an AI-native way. What this means to us is using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows as part of their everyday development practice.
We're looking for an engineer with strong product instincts who enjoys collaborative problem-solving and values delivering meaningful impact over perfection. If you're motivated by building thoughtful user experiences and improving systems over time, we'd love to hear from you.
Salary
We are able to offer between £85,000-£95,000 depending on experience, with equity options and comprehensive benefits.
In-person and Remote Working Balance
We work in a flexible hybrid model. Most squads collaborate in person around two days per week, with flexibility around which days work best. This helps us balance meaningful face-to-face collaboration with time for focused engineering work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
- Lead high-impact technical initiatives: Own the design and delivery of complex features across the Measure product, from survey creation and fielding to insights visualisation, spanning frontend and backend.
- Shape products from discovery to delivery: Partner closely with Product and Design during discovery, translating evolving requirements into pragmatic technical solutions that solve real user problems.
- Extend the Measure experience end-to-end: Create robust, scalable systems using VueJS and TypeScript on the frontend, and Java (Spring Boot) or Python services on the backend, that handle streaming responses, dynamic visualisations, and complex state management.
- Integrate seamlessly: Use OpenAPI contracts to build reliable integrations across survey-building, audience, and insights services — including where Compass (https://www.askattest.com/compass) powers AI-assisted survey creation and analysis — handling real-time data streams and failure states robustly.
- Balance speed with sustainability: Ship quickly while maintaining high code quality, performance, and testability. Proactively reduce technical debt and improve system health.
- Elevate the entire team: Provide thoughtful code reviews, mentor other engineers through pairing, and contribute to shared patterns and standards across the Engineering organisation.
- Drive measurable outcomes: Focus on user outcomes, not just output, using data to inform iteration and improvement.
- Work AI-natively: Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools as a core part of your day-to-day workflow to build faster without sacrificing quality.
You'll have autonomy in technical decisions, support for growth, and the opportunity to influence how users interact with AI-powered survey creation and insights across the Measure product.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong commercial experience with VueJS (or equivalent) and TypeScript, and is comfortable working across backend services in Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python, building complex applications that scale.
- Can lead technical delivery of large features or epics end-to-end across the stack, with cross-functional squad collaboration.
- Works AI-natively, including using AI coding assistants and agentic tools as part of their everyday development practice.
- Demonstrates strong architectural thinking across component design, service design, state management, performance, and scalability.
- Is comfortable with ambiguity. You don’t wait for perfect briefs, when requirements are unclear, you’ll get to the bottom of them and propose the approach you think is right.
- Balances pragmatism with engineering quality.
- Brings a product mindset, focusing on user outcomes and business impact over technical elegance.
- Has a growth mindset, actively seeks feedback, challenges assumptions, and continuously improves both systems and ways of working.
- Has thrived in cross-functional product squads, balancing engineering, product, and design perspectives.
- Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, making complex decisions accessible and building alignment.
