Senior Software Engineer - Hillingdon (Hybrid Working Offered)
Embedded Linux | C++ | Communications Systems
Some engineering teams spend years maintaining the same product - This team doesn't.
Every 12-18 months, a new product moves from concept through development and into production. Engineers are involved throughout the entire lifecycle, from early architecture discussions through to deployment in the field. The result is the kind of work many software engineers say they want but rarely find: ownership, technical influence, and the opportunity to see the impact of what they've built.
You'll join a small multidisciplinary R&D team made up of software, embedded software, hardware, RF and mechanical engineers developing advanced communications technology used in demanding real-world environments.

The role sits at the application and middleware layer, developing software on Embedded Linux platforms using modern C++. You'll work on networking, communications protocols and distributed systems, collaborating closely with engineers across multiple disciplines. This isn't a large corporate environment with layers of process and narrow responsibilities. It's a team where engineers are trusted to solve problems, contribute ideas and take ownership.
You'll likely bring experience with:
- Embedded Linux development
- Modern C++
- Networking and communications protocols
- SIP, RTP, PJSIP, Asterisk or similar VoIP technologies
- Multi-threaded software development
- Complex systems where reliability matters
Experience within satellite communications, telecommunications, maritime technology, aerospace, defence or other high-reliability industries would be advantageous, but the company is ultimately interested in strong engineers who can learn quickly and contribute from day one.
