We are working with an AI tech hub within one of the fastest-growing insurance companies, dedicated to researching and developing advanced AI systems. This organisation is transforming the insurance sector from a traditional, slow-moving industry into a data-driven, technology-led, and society-defining future. They are seeking dynamic, driven professionals to help evolve their business in new directions. You will need first-class credentials and a proactive attitude to drive change and underpin their mission.
The Role
- Contribute significantly to the development, testing, and maintenance of lab projects, products, and initiatives.
- Deliver robust, maintainable, and operationally viable software and infrastructure using a modern tech stack.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners to understand technical requirements and delivery priorities.
- Mentor other engineers and champion best practices through code reviews, pair programming, and other methods.
- Troubleshoot technical, data, and integration issues during development and deployment.
- Drive the development and improvement of internal tooling, engineering standards, and deployment practices.

What You'll Need
- Extensive commercial software engineering experience.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with modern web and cloud technologies, with strong experience in at least two components like Python, Typescript, relational databases, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS.
- Strong core software engineering and DevOps skills, including CI/CD, version control, containerisation, and cloud deployment.
- Knowledgeable in engineering best practices and comfortable producing clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Highly effective in a remote-first, iterative agile environment.
