About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who can own complex problems from discovery through production. This role is not narrowly front-end, back-end, or data engineering—you should feel comfortable working across:
- Services
- APIs
- Event flows
- Product experience
- Production debugging
- Cross-team delivery
What You Will Do
- Design and build reliable services, APIs, and product-facing workflows
- Work across:
- Backend systems & UI surfaces
- Event processing & third-party integrations
- Turn unclear problems into concrete technical plans
- Own production behavior, including:
- Monitoring
- Alerting
- Logging
- Debugging & runbooks
- Collaborate with:
- Product, design, infrastructure & support
- Engineering teams across programmes
- Improve quality through:
- Tests & code review
- Observability
- Simpler designs
- Use data & production evidence to validate decisions
- Take ownership of incidents when systems do not behave as expected

What We Are Looking For
Technical Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong backend engineering experience with production systems
- Frontend experience (e.g. React, TypeScript), when needed
- Systems ownership across distributed systems & event-driven workflows, like:
- Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub
- Cloud experience (GCP, AWS)
- Production-level experience with:
- APIs, services & integrations
- SQL-based data access
- Logging, metrics & dashboarding
- Tracing & alerting
- Automated tests & code reviews
Useful Experience (but not required)
- Merchant-facing product workflows
- Account linking, OAuth or external API integration
- Redis, caching & high-volume event processing
- Analytics, reporting, or event-driven products
Mindset
- Own the outcome, not just the ticket—ask what problem we’re solving
- Prefer simple designs others can maintain
- Validate assumptions early with production data
- Escalate risk early, take security seriously
- Do not shortcut process for shortcuts
