Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Team Lead
Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in Belfast office
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
(Role is NI based. Candidate must have the right to live and work in UK)

Job Summary:
A new product offering is emerging from the concept phase, which expands our solution set from compliance and data governance into cybersecurity. This role offers the opportunity to work in emerging technologies with a primary focus on a Java skillset. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic team, coding in a fast-paced development environment, generating creative solutions to solve customer needs and challenges. The successful candidate will be actively involved in driving technical decisions within the team, with a desire to produce high-quality software to provide a superior client experience.

Education requirements:
A University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
Experience:
5+ years relevant software engineering and development experience Proactive attitude with great communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivated, and the ability to work well with people are essential
Essential Criteria:
- 5+ years Java; Java 17+/21, Spring Boot or equivalent
- Stream/event-driven services at volume (Redis Streams, Kafka or similar)
- REST API design and ownership, contract-first
- Containerised services on Azure or another major cloud; Docker, CI/CD
- Strong SQL

Desired Criteria:
- ClickHouse or another columnar/OLAP store from the application side
- PostgreSQL with JSONB; in-process caching with invalidation
- Security telemetry: Windows event logs, Active Directory, M365/Graph API, NetFlow
- Insider threat / UEBA / SIEM product experience
- Porting or re-platforming an existing system against a live reference implementation
- Comfortable reading C# well enough to port from it
- Agile, cross-functional delivery
