Role Overview

I'm working with a highly successful buy-side investment manager that's investing heavily in software engineering, data platforms and AI as part of a firm-wide technology transformation.

They're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a small, high-performing team where engineers have genuine ownership, work directly with investment, finance and operations teams, and deliver technology that has a visible impact across the business.

This isn't a role where you'll spend years maintaining a single application. You'll lead projects from design through to deployment, building modern business systems, cloud data platforms, APIs, automation and AI-enabled solutions that support the firm's investment platform.

The business has embraced AI-assisted engineering, with developers actively using Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and modern AI tooling as part of their day-to-day development process while exploring agentic workflows across the organisation.

What You'll Be Working On

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
