Senior Software Engineer

Excellent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join an innovative technology company based in Surrey, developing advanced imaging and detector solutions for demanding scientific and industrial applications. This is a hands-on position offering the chance to work across the full product lifecycle, from software development and system integration through to testing, production support and continuous product improvement within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software applications using C#, .NET, C++, Qt, and Python.
  • Design and implement APIs, communication protocols, and data acquisition systems.
  • Develop automated testing solutions, verification systems, and engineering tools.
  • Support software quality through code reviews, CI/CD processes, and release management.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues spanning software, firmware, FPGA, and hardware interfaces.
  • Develop SQL queries, reporting solutions, and system integrations to support engineering and business processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Manage multiple development projects while ensuring high-quality delivery.

Key Skills Required

  • Degree qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstratable commercial experience in a Senior Software Engineer or similar position.
  • Strong commercial experience with C# and.NET development.
  • Experience developing software using C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of API development and software integration.
  • Experience with test automation, source control, and CI/CD environments.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Any experience with scientific instrumentation, imaging systems, electronics, FPGA, or hardware-integrated software would be advantageous.
