Senior Software Engineer – C# /.NET, Azure
Leading Fintech | London (1 day in office) | £450-£550 | 6 Months outside IR35
Trakd is partnering with a leading UK fintech to hire a Senior Software Engineer into its core engineering team. The platform processes high volumes of financial transactions for customers across the UK, so reliability, security, and good engineering practice matter.
You'll design, build and run cloud-native backend services on Microsoft Azure, working in a modern C#/.NET stack with a team that uses AI-assisted development in its everyday work. This is a hands-on role. You'll own services from design through to production, and help shape how the team builds and ships software.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and building scalable backend services and APIs in C# and.NET
- Developing and supporting cloud-native applications on Azure
- Building microservices and event-driven systems that are resilient, secure and observable
- Owning CI/CD and release processes across Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- Supporting production systems, including monitoring, incident response and root-cause fixes
- Writing secure code and fixing vulnerabilities as part of normal delivery
- Using tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude to speed up delivery and improve code quality and documentation
- Working closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders to deliver work that matters to customers

What you'll bring
- Strong backend software engineering experience in C# and.NET
- Experience designing, developing and supporting cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps for work management, source control, CI/CD and release processes
- Experience using GitHub and GitHub Actions to manage source code, automate testing and deploy applications
- Knowledge of API design, microservices architectures and event-driven systems
- An understanding of software security, secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, incident management and production support
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve productivity, code quality and documentation
- Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
