Let’s transform the business of healthcare.
At The Craneware Group, we’re helping healthcare organisations use data and technology to drive better outcomes. As we continue to grow our SaaS platform, we’re looking for experienced engineering leaders who can help shape the technology, architecture and engineering practices behind our products.
You’ll join a team of more than 750 professionals, working on complex, data-driven software solutions supporting the US healthcare market.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, influencing how we build, scale and evolve our cloud-based products.
We support a flexible, collaborative working environment. For UK-based roles, employees work on a hybrid basis, spending 40% of their working time per month in our Tanfield office, approximately two days per week.
The Team
We’re looking for an experienced Lead / Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership within our Engineering organisation.
Working closely with Software Engineers, Product and other technical stakeholders, you’ll help define the technical direction of our solutions and tackle some of the more complex engineering challenges across our platform.
You’ll work within an environment processing significant volumes of healthcare and pharmacy data, helping us build scalable cloud solutions that enable our customers to understand their inventory and access meaningful, real-time cost analysis.
This is a role for someone who enjoys remaining close to the technology while having influence beyond their own code. You’ll help guide architectural decisions, establish engineering best practices, mentor experienced engineers and ensure our solutions are designed with scalability, maintainability and long-term product evolution in mind.
Our current tech stack includes:
- C# and .NET 8, with a planned transition to .NET 10
- Web API, Azure Storage Queues and Event Hubs
- Azure Durable Functions and Azure Functions
- Angular
- Azure SQL and Cosmos DB
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Blob and Table Storage

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
