About the role:
The Senior CX Software Engineer is a role for people with prior experience and exposure to distributed computing, Canton Network or our product. These individuals are able to stand in front of a client to provide sound advice without support, and to work effectively on components implementation as one of the team when working with clients on client solutions. They can engage confidently with their senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Delivers high-quality and thoroughly-tested code, following DA’s coding standards and organizational practices
- Independently and collaboratively delivers high-quality, fully tested incremental improvements to DA products following the development requirements of their team. (The scope of work is 1 month or less. Self-directed once work is assigned.)
- Programs in multiple languages including but not limited to Scala, Haskell, Java, TypeScript, and Daml
- Develops on MacOS, Linux, and/or Windows operating systems, with the primary deployment target of Linux
- Develops using Git and GitHub source code management tools
- Proactively identifies and resolves potential problems before becoming blocked
- Demonstrates proficiency in team processes and practices and strives to improve these processes
- Helps other team members attain the info they need to be successful and frequently mentors other team members

What We're Looking For:
- Has a broad understanding of Canton and Daml
- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of scalable, distributed systems, and event-driven systems
- In-depth knowledge in at least one of the functional programming languages, ideally Scala or Haskell
- Committed to delivering high-quality solutions
- Highly competent in a particular domain of the Daml product and continually increase expertise within that domain; troubleshoot and optimize within this domain as needed
This position may be based in New York or London. Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's location and experience.
The range below may vary if based outside the New York tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). Base salaries are determined during our interview process, during which we assess the candidate's experience, skills, and capabilities against internal peers and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
